Porta nella tua cucina le colline giapponesi: scopri i vassoi di design “Hills”

The objects The most common items in our homes all have a curious story, have you ever thought about it?

To begin with, they have their own “specific” history: who will have it designed , how it was conceived, where it was built ?

But they also have a more general story: who invented that type of objects ?

You probably know the troubled history of the fork , already partly used in noble Greek and Roman families, then fallen into disuse, returning to prominence centuries later but, it seems, prohibited in monasteries until 1700.

A very respectable story.

And also the trays I am no less.

HISTORY OF TRAYS

The history of trays is as old as mankind.

This object, like the mirrors , had, in addition to culinary uses, "ritual" uses in religious ceremonies.

From the first trays made of leaves or rushes, passing from the ancient trays in terracotta, bronze, copper, to those in wood, marble, iron, gold and up to modern plastic . Today there really is something for everyone.

In some Italian regions it is also called "cabaret" just like the "container" shows that first spread in France precisely in the "cabarets", ancestors of the restaurants modern, where trays were probably used for serving.

DESIGN TRAYS

There are historic design brands that have made trays a must, such as those of Alessi (even to Philippe Starck had been commissioned a tray when he produced the famous juicer!), or the modern ones in PMMA Of Kartell .

Then there are the freestanding design trays .

“HILLS” THE JAPANESE HILLS OF MIKIYA KOBAYASHI

I am aluminum trays round , apparently one of the most classic shapes. But the “Hills” trays they are conceived as elements that can be combined in different ways dimensions And colors .

Inserted one inside the other and rotated individually, or all together, they present landscapes always new, almost as if one were in the presence of a magic lantern , the ancestor of cinema.

The randomness in combining, in the overlapping of edges sinuous, concave and convex, make it a complex object even in its declared minimalism .

The Hills trays bring back to our imagination the hilly landscapes Japanese that inspired Mikiya.

Available in diameters of 22 cm, 30 cm and 35 cm and in six different colours , the classic white And black and then yellow, green and blue , embossed colours that please both the sight and the touch, giving a pleasant “material” sensation .

We have also created a special, extremely elegant version in hand -polished stainless steel .
